My painting "Gators" which won one of the top awards in the NWS Members Exhibit was published on the May 1, 2016 cover of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association. After appearing on the cover, prints of "Gators" have been very popular with University of Florida Alumni and I arranged to gift the original painting to the UF for display in their permanent collection in Jan 2017.
In Feb 2018, I was the juror and judge for the 8th Annual Brush with Burden multimedia art exhibit in Baton Rouge, LA. I also did a demo at this show's opening on March 17, 2018. This was a fund raiser for the LSU Burden Horticultural Society.
In early Oct 2018, I taught a Plein Air Journaling workshop using watercolor/pen and ink at the Sheraton Bay Point Resort at Panama City Beach, FL. The Sheraton was a beautiful self contained resort area and the weather was perfect for outdoor activities in the fall! However, on Oct 10, Hurricane Michael came through our area and did major damage to the Sheraton. In the Fall of 2019, I taught another Plein Air journaling workshop at the beautiful St. Andrews State Park right on the Gulf of Mexico.
In Sept 2020, I was one of a number of artists doing a demo at the Florida Watercolor Society Online Virtual Convention. The demo is entitled "Tips and Techniques in Plein Air Journaling in Watercolor and Pen/Ink". This has become a very popular topic in workshops. Finally now that the pandemic is subsiding, I will be heading to Paris in September 2021 to spend a week immersed in my watercolor journaling.
